Graphic 45 Design Team 2014 Audition

I have been a fan of Graphic 45 for as long as I can remember.  Growing up my family loved things of day gone by so it seemed fitting for me to love and enjoy creating with the paper that shared the same love for the time period I was raised around.  My husband and son helped to support my love for the Graphic 45 papers by giving me some every year for Christmas.  I still have a few sheets of the Curtain Call and Steampunk Debutante lines along with some others that I have been hoarding for just the right project.  I was so thrilled a couple of weeks ago when I opened my email and saw the "We Want You" with the Rosie the Riveter picture.  I knew it was now time for me to have some fun and apply for the Graphic 45 design team call.

Today I would like to share 7 projects that are just a few of my favorites that I have created. Many of them I have done for places that I have designed for so I have included the links to where you can find the instructions or more about them.  I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I have enjoyed sharing them with you.

This shaped card was designed recently for my Superstar week over on the Cut Out and Keep website.  It is a little different way of looking at a card by creating a unique shape for it.  The instructions can be found here: Not So Ordinary Card Shapes.  I used the Couture line by Graphic 45 to create the card and for the sentiment piece I used a piece of an old pattern to create the background.  The pattern and the Couture line seem to be made for each other in my opinion.  I love the two together!
This "Things A Girl Should Be" card was created as a tutorial for Create for Less' Think Crafts Blog. The tutorial for it can be found using this link:  Things A Girl Should Be. I love fussy cutting and this lady from the Graphic 45 Couture line was the perfect focal point for this card.

I created this Christmas table decoration several years ago and put it out every holiday season.  It holds a special place in my heart because the Night Before Christmas is my all time favorite story.  I have it memorized it means so much to me so when this paper line came out I knew I had to use it.  I painted the stand to match the bluish color from the paper and added a little gold paint to some areas to make it pop.  The paper was sealed using the Sparkle Mod Podge to give it a glimmer effect.

This special little treat box was designed as a tutorial for Create for Less' Think Crafts blog.  Everyone needs a special little treat at the holidays and what is more perfect than to receive it in a handmade box made with the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet paper line?  The instructions on how to create it can be found here:  Nutcracker Sweet Gable Gift Box.

This Explosion Book is another favorite of mine using the Nutcracker Sweet line. I used to make gingerbread houses and enter them into a local fundraising event and as I moved on to paper crafting I never lost my love for gingerbread items.  This little book is perfect to store small photos in as remembrances of the past.  The instructions on how to create one to use can be found here:  Gingerbread and Sweets Explosion Book.

One of the first projects I ever created was a tag.  They were easy to make and had so many uses.  After a while I found myself making them just to decorate them because it was so much fun.  This Tag-Go-Round is another fun way to use them.  They can be decorated as much or as little as you like.  They can be passed from one person to another in a tag swap to create one with many different looks.  No matter how you use them, they are just plain fun!  This one was created for a blog post on the Think Crafts Blog and the instructions to it can be found by clicking this link:  Graphic 45 Couture Tag Go Round.
This is the last project I would like to share with you today.  This is one that I am still really excited over.  It is a Photobook or Journal kit that I designed while I was on the Altered Pages design team.  Everything was included in the kit including the Little Darlings patterned paper that was needed to finish it.  The Little Darlings paper by Graphic 45 makes it the perfect gift for a new mother or as a Mother's Day gift.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing many of the projects that I hold very special to me.  No matter what the project is, the addition of a beautiful piece of Graphic 45 paper or one of the many embellishments  will always end up being the center of attention.  When I create anything I put a little piece of my heart into it and all those years ago Graphic 45 captured a little piece of my heart, too!
