When my friend, Roni, contacted me about helping her celebrate her blog's anniversary by participating in a blog hop I knew I was definitely in. Ink Stains is a great blog to find new inspiration from daily. Roni is a very talented artist. She has been sharing her creative work for 5 years and today marks the 5th anniversary of her blog. Congrats, Roni!
She mailed everyone an Altoid Tin to alter with a bunch of goodies inside to use if we'd like. When I opened it and saw the little round wooden pieces which I believe are markers for bingo cards I knew those would become the feet for my tin, but I wasn't sure where I wanted to take this project from there. Since I had just finished decorating our house for the holidays I kept thinking it would be great to do something around that. As I sat and looked at the tin, I realized that the collage sheets from Altered Pages would be perfect for the top and chose this vintage Santa from the Santa Then and Now sheet to use. This year, I've been creating with a lot of different colors that you don't normally think of using such as blues so when I saw the purple of this Santa's coat I knew that I was going to paint the top of the box and the feet purple to match and add that color to my creating palette this year, too. I added the white lace around the edge and misted the picture to give it a glittery shine to finish it off. This cute little tin now sits on our coffee table as a part of our holiday decorations.
Be sure to check out everyone's creations by following the hop list below. You won't want to miss any of the inspirations created by many talented artists. There will also be prizes offered so be sure to leave comments on all of the blogs.
