Festive Friday Blog Hop

I recently decided to take a look at some things from Stampin' Up and after receiving the catalog from one of the demonstrators I found these really cool stamps and dies set.  I very rarely spend a lot of money on my crafts, but I liked this set a lot and after spending quite a bit of time thinking about it I decided to treat myself and get them.

In the past, things like embossing powders and glitters and I haven't gotten along, but I wanted to try them.  They always have ended up more of a mess for me then anything.  I decided now was the time to give them another try and embossed the pattern onto the die cuts.  I'm now hooked on embossing powders and have been playing more with glitter, too.  I love the shine this powder has added to the ornaments.  It reminds me of real ornaments that have the pattern in glitter.  I love those types of ornaments!

After I created the ornaments I dug into my stash to find this old paper line and as I looked for it I found my missing spool of twine and decided to use it, too. This card turned out better than I had pictured it and I'm really excited about it.
