Death Swatch by Laura Childs

Do you like to read? Do you like to scrap? Would you like to combine the two? I have a book for you! This is an awesome book series by Laura Childs and once you pick it up it's hard to put down.
A couple of years ago while waiting for my son at the library I went to the nearest book shelves to see if I could find a good book. Boy, did I find a good one, but not just a book- a series! The Scrapbooking Mystery Series by Laura Childs! They are excellent and I recommend them to everyone. One thing that is great about this series is they don't have to be read in any order so you can just pick one up and start reading.
Her scrapbooking series is based around Carmela Bertrand who is the owner of Memory Mine Scrapbooking Store in New Orleans and her friends. Carmela often finds herself in one predicament-involved in a mystery and manages to get herself involved to track down who commited the crime.
In Death Swatch (the 6th book of the series) she finds herself having to track down who murdered Archie Baudier, a local coin collector, in the midst of her friend's party to celebrate the heart of New Orleans-Mardi Gras. She unravels the mystery to find the killer as she winds her way through the crowd and floats of Mardi Gras all the way to the sewers under New Orleans. The book gives so many twists and turns it keeps you guessing right to the end. It's a must read. I couldn't put the book down and highly recommend reading it.
Like the recipe for Crab Cakes Carmela mentioned in Death Swatch? Like what she did with the black and white photo? Be sure to notice the scrapbooking tips and recipes that are included in each book.
Don't forget to check out the other 8 books in the series, too, such as Photo Finished and Bound for Murder and even Laura's latest book in the series-Tragic Magic which just came out recently. They are all must reads and I highly recommend them.
Laura also writes 2 other great series-The Tea Shop Mysteries and Cackleberry Club which can be found on her site: Laura Childs. Be sure to look for all 3 series at your local bookstores, your local library or from your favorite online bookseller.
