SheetLoad is loads of fun!

SheetLoad which can be found here is a free online emagazine that provides sketches for you to follow to create truly great cards, altered projects and more. Be sure to click on the link and check it out. You'll love it! I am in the process of trying out for their design team and as part of the process I had to choose a current or past issue of the emagazine and use the sketch from it to create 3 cards and an altered project (Beyond the Card) of my choice that was inspired by the sketch and now I want to share what I made with everyone! I am so excited over these projects and the chance to try out to be a part of the Sheetload team. I chose the September 08 issue and used the sketch from it.

For the Mother's Day card after making the card and pieces according to the sizes and directions provided in the issue and assembling them, I used my cricut and Walk in My Garden cart to make a flower pot and inked it to give it a worn look. Then, using the daisy punch by The Paper Studio I punched several flowers and glued them around the flower pot. Some of them I also pop dotted to give make them stand out. I then added the bling. Using my Fiskars Threading Water punch I created the scalloped border and put it on the card. The paper used on all 3 cards for the scallops is adhesive paper by Autumn Leaves. I, then, used my Fiskars pop up daisy punch to make the small daisy and glued it to the sentiment. Using pop dots I fastened it to the card. I then stamped (stamp by Anita) the bee and flower corner,colored it by using neon pens I found at the dollar store and adhered it on.

Following the same instructions from the issue I made the Seasons Greetings and You're Invited cards. The Seasons Greetings card I made my own by using the Martha Stewart branch punch and added white highlights for the corner and stickles on the star. Before stamping the trees, I used a warm iron covered with aluminum foil to create the sky by scribbling old crayons on the foil and ironing on the paper. Once it had cooled I stamped on the trees (stamp by Rubber Stamped). The scallop punch is also a Martha Stewart punch. For the You're Invited card to make it my own design I used dimensional paint to make the marshmellow, splattered and dripped the white piece of cardstock with acrylic paint for the background and used the MS branch punch for the embellishment on the sentiment card. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the patterned paper and then stitched through the holes. The sleeping sun corner piece is a vellum sticker.

My Beyond the Card item is a clipboard which was also inspired by the September 08 sketch and I turned it into my own altered project. I had purchased an unfinished wood clipboard and painted the edges to look like the paper and patterned paper that are called for in the sketch. I, then, created a word document on white cardstock for my to do list and for the sentiment. I used patterned paper and a Fiskars border punch for the scallop and cut the corner which I moved to the bottom for this design out, too. Using the plain side of patterned paper I cut out 2 checkmarks and added them for embellishments on the sentiment. After adhering the paper to the clipboard using glue I sealed the entire board with a spray sealer.
